Driving Impact Together: How United Way's Day of Caring Powers Purpose at Tempus

This year, our team supported two locations: Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley (JAM) and a YMCA daycare center, working on projects that directly benefit the community.

Split across both sites, employees brought their time, energy, and teamwork to support improvements where they were needed most.

At Junior Achievement, the team tackled a wide range of hands-on projects, including:

• Deep cleaning the indoor pool and slide area
• Power washing exterior surfaces
• Assembling a storage shed
• Garden maintenance (raking, weeding, and cleanup)
• Additional exterior building cleanup

With multiple projects happening at once, collaboration was key and the team delivered.

At the YMCA daycare center, the focus was on exterior painting and helping refresh and maintain a welcoming environment for children and staff. The team also worked outdoors to enhance the space used daily by families in the community.

While the Day of Caring lasts only a few hours, its impact extends far beyond the day itself. The updates made at both sites will support daily use and improve environments for those who depend on them.
