Jason Sweitzer 

  President
Bio
 

Jason Sweitzer has over 30 years of highly integrated technology experience, and oversees the design, support, management, and development of the company's proprietary gateway platform, the PaymentMate software and integration, and enterprise architecture for third-party platforms in the bankcard industry. Sweitzer encompasses a wide range of knowledge involving integration of product lines affiliated with retail point of sale, electronic payments, mobile payments, contactless, Canadian currency processing, and gateway technology. When Tempus Technologies was acquired by PNC in 2021, additional responsibilities of PNC EVP of payment strategy were added.

Prior to Tempus Technologies, Sweitzer led executive roles as a project manager and IT consultant for organizations including Citibank and Bell Northern Research. He earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University.

 

J. Brian Merena

Brian Merena has 30 years of in-depth industry experience and oversees all sales, business development, and all third-party strategic relationships including VAR and ISV partnerships. Merena has an extensive background in payments acquiring and the financial service industry managing portfolio and client acquisitions, strategic partnerships, conversions, product sales, and contract negotiations.

Prior to Tempus Technologies, Merena was Senior Vice President of Bank of America Merchant Services (BAMS), a joint-venture company between First Data Corporation and Bank of America, managing VARs and third-party strategic partners. Merena held the position of Executive Vice President at United Bank Card, where he successfully built from the ground up the company's Financial Institution and Third-Party Partner (TPP) programs. Merena also held executive positions for Moneris Solutions, Elavon and National Data Corporation. He earned a bachelor's degree from The University of Connecticut.

 

Jeremy Pfister

Chief Operating Officer

Jeremy Pfister is responsible for helping the executive management team execute the company's growth strategy and oversees the business operations, legal, finance, security and compliance functions at the company.

Prior to joining Tempus Technologies, Pfister was an executive at a leading medical device industry supplier where he oversaw the legal, human resources, research and development, regulatory and quality functions. As part of the executive committee, he also worked to develop and execute the company's high-growth, technology-driven strategy. Pfister previously practiced law at Baker & Daniels LLP (now Faegre Baker Daniels LLP) where he represented companies in general corporate matters, with an emphasis on technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions and private financings. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay and a law degree from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis.

Kyle Jurick

Vice President, Product and Development

Kyle Jurick joined Tempus Technologies in June of 2009 as a Customer Support Analyst. Working directly with the clients’ issues daily, Kyle saw opportunities to improve the products of Tempus Technologies and streamline tasks that were traditionally done manually. Kyle moved from customer support to a development role, contributing to designing and building many of the products that Tempus is proud to offer today. Kyle joined the management team as the Director of Product in 2016 and transitioned to Vice President of Product in 2017. In this role, he gives Tempus team members and customers direction on solving hard problems to ultimately bring our clients to the point of feeling confident that their payment system is going to work every time.

 

Elaine Kunde

VP Sales, Marketing and Relationship Management

Elaine Kunde joined Tempus Technologies in 2014, and brings more than 10 years of business and operational management skills. She joined the Tempus management team in 2018 as the Director of Business Development, and in 2019, she was promoted to Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Relationship Management.

As the Vice President of Sales, she supports the executive team in building organizational strategy and objectives for continued growth, leads business development critical projects, and supports and solutions our merchant and partner opportunities. Elaine also leads the Relationship Management group, which supports our largest and most complex merchants and partners. 

 

Anita Harris

Vice President, Finance

With over 20 years of Accounting and Finance experience, Anita Harris joined Tempus Technologies in 2016 as the Finance Director responsible for Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax and General Accounting.

Before starting at Tempus, Harris spent 10 years at Harris Corporation (formerly Exelis, Inc. and prior to that ITT Corporation) progressing from a Senior Accountant to Senior Finance Manager responsible for the General Accounting Department. She graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Accounting in 1996 and successfully completed the requirements to hold the Certified Public Accountant designation in 1999.

  

Melissa Irk

Vice President, Operations
Bio
 

Melissa Irk collaborates with senior-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans. In Operations, she maximizes efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. Irk also coordinates with other Directors and staff to devise strategies to ensure growth of programs enterprise-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs.

Collaborating and team building was a strong passion for Irk in her previous experience. As a Business Operations Manager, Irk assisted in planning, coordinating, and controlling the daily operations through the organization's managers, while working towards the company's primary objectives, based on profit and return on capital. Irk also worked extensively in sales and marketing. With her husband, they raise their two children and can be found supporting them at one of many sports functions and active in their children's ministry at her church. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Huntington University.

 

Kim Monroe

Director of Product and Development

Kim Monroe comes to Tempus with over 18 years-experience, leading departments, teams and processes. She specializes in building team cultures that are highly collaborative and fun and in matching people to roles that fit their personality, strengths and weaknesses thereby building highly effective productive teams. Monroe is leading our transformation to Agile Scrum, carefully managing and incrementally implementing to ensure bit by bit adoption and stabilization across the organization and time built in to assess whether the changes made are actually creating business value for our clients and facilitating agility.

Prior to joining Tempus, Monroe has led large scale projects and turnaround efforts at major corporations with proven success. Throughout her career she has been recruited often to solve organizational design and/or process problems that create inefficiencies and stifle productivity. Outside of work she enjoys mentoring teens in her community, creating interactive board games, interior design and mini vacations at the lake with friends and family.

 

Michael Wolfe

General Manager, Federal Solutions

Michael has over 29 years of hands-on experience in the enterprise software industry. His previous roles include Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of the Federal business unit at a sector-leading enterprise software company. He is now bringing his business, technology, and executive leadership expertise to Tempus Technologies, where he will continue to work with the best and brightest in business, software, and government industries throughout the country.

With additional background in hardware deployment, he has a deep understanding of networking and infrastructure as well as complex security and compliance standards. He has also served on multiple boards of advisors where he has assisted with successful acquisitions as well as early round investment funding of both international and domestic companies.

  

Erin Fry

Vice President, Client Success Management

Erin Fry joined Tempus Technologies in 2017 and brings more than 25 years of professional experience to Tempus with 15 years concentrated in the financial services industry, where Erin specialized in standardization and centralization of processes as well as managing large scale projects. Erin has a broad background in both internal and external client support interfacing with executives and management across multiple levels.

Erin leads the Client Services and Implementation (CSI) organization, consisting of the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Implementation and Shared Services teams. Tempus CSI strives to provide clients with consistent and value-driven services and support focused on people, policy, process, and priorities, while emphasizing client relationships and efficient execution of Tempus projects and support needs. She resides in Indiana with her husband and two children.

 

Chris Schweitzer

Vice President, Federal Services and Infrastructure

Chris Schweitzer joined Tempus Technologies in the spring of 2022, bringing more than 23 years' experience fusing people, process and technology in successful and complex enterprise IT, utility, and broadband organizations. Chris enjoys building, serving, leading, and nurturing technical teams that drive innovation, quality, and results.

In his role as Assistant General Manager, Federal Solutions, Chris enjoys serving Tempus’ newest business unit in delivering and operating large scale innovative payment solutions serving our U.S. Government.

As VP, Information Technology, Chris is privileged in leading the company’s IT Professionals in providing business technology services to its several hundred local and remote employees that fuel the company's software development, operations, sales, and client services departments. Chris also guides and supports the infrastructure teams responsible for efforts to design, build, deploy, run, and support the cloud computing platforms powering Tempus’ client-facing payment solutions.

Chris resides in Auburn, IN with his wife and two children, and enjoys competing in amateur golf tournaments at the local, state, and national levels.

 

Andrew Morrison

Director of Security and Compliance
Bio
 

With over 15 years of professional experience in the fields of information security and compliance, Andrew Morrison joined Tempus in 2017 to manage Tempus's industry standard and regulatory compliance programs. Prior to Tempus, Andrew worked for the DoD in Fort Meade, MD where he held a TS/SCI security clearance, and later as an information security and compliance consultant for a privately-held firm in East Aurora, NY.

In 2018, Security Compliance was spun off from Information Technology and became a full department, which Andrew has led since its inception. As the Director of Security Compliance, Andrew oversees all work relating to organizational compliance with internal programs and security standards including, but not limited to, PCI DSS, PCI P2PE, PCI SSF, HIPAA, SSAE 18, and NIST. Andrew holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from SUNY Fredonia and an MBA from Indiana University, as well as PCI ISA, ISACA CISM, and HITRUST CCSFP certifications.
